This is the first cover of Unscanned a while back! It was designed by Tutul Chowdry.
By now, you probably realise two things. Firstly, I like writing stories and secondly... I absolutely take too many photos of skies. My phone is full of them. Stunning sunsets, amazing sunrises and weird moons! I also love those brilliant Hubble and James Webb Telescope images. You'll probably notice a few of those on this website.
I've been writing for as long as I can remember and reading even longer. I just love words and am fascinated with how some authors have a talent for describing a scene that makes you cry or laugh, or just take you away for hours at a time to new worlds. If I can achieve that, my work is done!
I love hiking and long picturesque walks, although my friends probably won't believe it due to the amount of time I spend in front of a screen. I have been to Edale in the Peak District many times. The picture of me in a pink top is my proof. I am standing on an old, wooden bridge, under which is a crystal clear stream, cascading down from waterfalls in the peaks.
And finally, something known only to a chosen few is that I once sneaked up to the top of the highest pyramid in Giza, Egypt, and watched the sun set over the desert. I have a picture to proove it.
Let's see, what else? My favourite books of all time??
Too Hard. So many different books. But I do read Pride and Prejudice a lot. Off the top of my head, I couldn't put down The Hunger Games and Divergent when they came out and am currently reading Mortal Instruments and the last book in the Discovery of Witches Series. I also loved Wolf Hall, The Hand Maiden Books, H is for Hawk, His Dark Materials, Tolkien, Roald Dahl Books, Spike Milligan Poetry, and sooo many others. I could just keep listing really. I read what I am in the mood for, and often have several books open at the same time. I read on a kindle, but also love the feel and smell of a paperback.
I also like old books with curly, yellowing pages. I have a few that are from the 19th and early 20th century. I especially love it when they have inscriptions in or are gifted to people. I wonder who these people were and what sort of life they lived. I've even looked for them online. Oh Gosh! I just realised I'm a stalker of those who, long ago, gifted books!
